Outsmart Your Last Meal

Hi this is Edisha with http://www.byobtraining.com! We are going to discuss how to cut calories yet eat what you want and finish up with #BYOBT workout challenge. This week’s Be Your Own Boss in Health and Fitness tip is: Outsmart your last meal. Have you ever stared at a particular food item so long that it became desirable to you and you just had to have it, so you did and you ended up feeling like that indulgence got the best of you? Well you are not the first person to be outdone by lingering the eyes on those fries; but what if I told you that you could have your cake and eat it too. Here is a list of to dos in order to cut calories when it comes to foods:

  1. Do not buy the junk for your house pantry.
  2. Do not go without eating protein and drinking 20 or more oz of water at least three times per day.
  3. Do not go to sleep immediately after eating a big meal.

Make room for desert. What I mean by that is if you don’t buy the candies for the house then when you do socialize with friends, vacation or date more than likely you can afford to eat desert without feeling guilty. Now, here is a list of to don’ts in order to cut calories when it comes to exercise:

  1. Don’t work out less than three times per week.
  2. Don’t do cardio without adding in weight training as well.
  3. Don’t get in the sauna or steam room for thirty minutes and count that a workout because it’s not.

Finally, you can afford the calories if you are actively participating in moderate intensity to high energy exercising consistently each week. This week’s main take away is put the sweets and high salty foods away from your sight at home, so when it comes time to unwind on the go, you may not regret adding in a side of wine to your favorite cheat meal at dinner on the weekend or a shot of vodka going up on a Tuesday! Don’t drink and drive.

This week’s #BYOBT workout challenge is: Do box jumps at 4 sets of 25 repetitions 45 seconds rest between each set.
