Hi this is Edisha with http://www.byobtraining.com! We are going to discuss how to avoid disappointment from new years resolutions and finish up with #BYOBT workout challenge.
This week’s Be Your Own Boss in Health and Fitness tip is: Don’t Wait for the New Year to Start Your Resolutions! I see a lot of memes in the community about leaving behind personality traits such as: negativity, hate, heart break, fake friends, jealousy etc. for the year 2015. Then I see others counteracting the meme by saying things like: “Sitting here waiting on New Year lies, I mean resolutions.” And I futuristic memes depicting 2015 with the same person that said they were leaving certain stuff behind only now having that plus more of the same types of baggage. Now, I don’t want to bash anybody but just get you to think. In order to get rid of those stereotypical traits of today one must first find the root of such concerns. Ask yourself three questions:
1. Why would a new year be the reason for you to leave those things behind?
2. What made you possess those types of things in your life in the first place?
3. What is your motivation behind your desire to now rid yourself of such weaknesses?
Having done thousands of consultations with young and older males and females, husbands and wives, parents and teens in my career I’ve come to find that many negative traits carried by individuals stem from discontent with oneself. The onset of discontent with usually depends on how the person views his or herself starting with the outside. How is the outward appearance changed? It starts with what we put in our bodies. This year take a look in the mirror from an outward perspective how you see yourself verses how others see you. If you are not satisfied then now is the time to change. Don’t wait to stand in line to see a personal trainer behind Jenny from the block on January 2nd at the gym. Start with your diet at home; don’t buy the junk because 9 times out of ten if it’s not in the house you won’t eat it. Next drink plenty of water don’t get wasted and dehydrated adding more fat without the flush. Then don’t compare yourself to others and get discouraged; sometimes doing the minimum can get you the most results go for an hour walk per day as opposed to psyching yourself out because you can’t do what you friend is doing at the gym. Finally start today.
