This week’s Be Your Own Boss in Health and Fitness Tip is: Anyone can be physically fit here’s how: According to the Wikipedia free encyclopedia, “Physical fitness is generally achieved through correct nutrition, exercise, hygiene and rest. It is a set of attributes or characteristics that people have or achieve that relates to the ability to perform physical activity.” Basically means to be in good health, especially because of regular physical exercise and eating. So, does being physically fit mean one must be a certain size, shape or weight? No. For all who are pro pink ribbon this month or are generally in support of Breast Cancer Awareness, did you know it is recommended to exercise regularly, at least 4 hours per week to help prevent breast cancer according to the CDC – Center for Disease Control? Here are a few suggestive exercises one can do during the typical 4 to 5 day work week to get physically fit without stepping foot in the gym: Walk an hour a day or Jog 45 minutes a day, pushups, crunches, walking toe touches, squats, lunges, and burpees. For those who do not know how to do burpees, listen up:

You will need enough space to lie down and stand up without bumping into anything.

Starting position:

Stand with arms by your side, feet hip width apart.

Movement:

Bend over placing hands flat on the floor then jump your feet back behind you to plank or pushup position back flat resembling a table, elbows locked knees straight toes on the floor preferably with shoes on. Next jump your feet forward landing in tucked position with feet flat on the floor, then immediately take your hands off the floor and stand up tall going back to starting position. Repeat.

#BYOBT workout challenge:

That’s right it’s the infamous Burpees at 4 sets of 25 repetitions with 60 seconds rest between each set.

Beginners and those with limitations such as aches in the knee joint may choose to walk your feet out to push up position instead of jumping and walk your feet forward before going back to starting position. Advanced athletes add a push up and or back flip if you have the space.
